Welcome to our website

Short Bark and Sides offers a professional dog grooming service in a luxury, purpose built salon, Designed to create a calm, relaxing safe haven in which pets can be groomed, indulged and revitalised.

We have free off road parking with direct access into the salon, making dropping off and picking up hassle free. We also have a lovely seating area where you are welcome to stay and wait with your best friend while they are being pampered. We provide free tea and coffee while you wait. If you would like to stay and wait please choose the first appointment of the day, alternatively message us to arrange the most suitable time.

We are fully insured, City and Guilds qualified and have over 25 years experience.

Jane is also a qualified dog grooming teacher, so you can rest assured knowing your best friend really is in very good hands.

Our Services

We adore dogs here and you can be assured that, not only will your pet will be groomed to an exceptional standard by a qualified groomer but they will be loved and looked after as if they were our own. Every pet that comes through our doors is an individual with quirks, things they love and things they hate! We tailor our groom to suit each pet and their owner.

Wash & Blow Dry

A full groom, is the full works.

Two luxury washes, to get them super clean and smelling lovely, this is followed by a warm blow dry, ear clean and a nail trim. You can even add on a choice of luxury extras. Then they will be cut and styled to your choice and finished off with a spritz of doggy perfume.

When you book in for a bath and blow dry your pooch will be treated to two luxury washes, this ensures they get super clean and smelling lovely. This is followed by a warm blow dry, (by hand, we don't use cabinets in our salon) an ear clean and a nail trim. You can even add on a choice of luxury extras. Then finally finished off with a good brush and some doggy cologne

Puppy Introduction to Grooming

We love puppies! We recommend that you bring your puppy in to see us as soon as they have had their 2nd vaccination. We love to see puppies in the salon, there is no need to wait until they need a full puppy groom. Book them in for an 'introduction to grooming session'. They will have a little brush, they can stand on the grooming table and listen to the dryer. We will touch their toes and look in their ears. In this session they will see what friendly people we are! Then when they come for their first full puppy groom, they will already know us and be familiar with the salon. They will take the whole experience in their stride!

Nail Clipping

No appointment necessary,

Jane is very experienced in clipping nails & has a real talent for getting them done very fast in a calm & stress free manor. Just pop down Monday - Thursday 10:00 -13.00.

We are happy to clip nails for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs.
